When you are stressed, overwhelmed, or upset, breathing deeply can help you re-center your mind and enhance your capacity to calm yourself, think rationally, and move forward. Yoga breathing, or Pranayama breathing, is the core of my Yoga teaching. I will teach you many different Yoga breathing techniques passed down for thousands of years that will calm you, give you energy, make your skin glow, and create coolness or heat/energy in your body. Imagine this: a whole spectrum of health benefits just from learning to breathe differently!

Breathing consciously is at the core of my breath-based yoga classes at Blossoming Wild Lotus Mat Yoga & Come as You Are Chair Yoga because it helps you connect to the subtle energy deep inside your being. It is through the power of the breath that you can navigate between different levels of consciousness, positively affecting your physical, mental, and emotional state.

A large part of Yoga is the first Yama, “Ahimsa”, Sanskrit for non-harming/non-violence, and it is incumbent upon us as practitioners of this ancient art and science of true Yoga, to do as little harm to the animals and earth as possible while we are here, so it is for your health and their health, that you are called upon to be vegan. I realize this isn’t an immediate change for most, but, it is necessary to live in harmony with Mother Earth and her inhabitants. I am very knowledgeable about living a healthy, nourishing, vegan lifestyle and will guide you in that direction.

During classes I teach you, I’ll demonstrate how to develop your internal and physical strength, flexibility, weights, straps, and Yoga asanas (poses) while focusing on your Pranayama breathing to help you expand your body and contract it, which will help you become more present and in tune with your inner energy. Breathing consciously is its own form of meditation because when you are present, you can let go of the past and future and enjoy the moment inside of the breath.

I teach a very original form of chair Yoga which I developed, using straps and weights. In my Pranayama breath-based mat yoga, we do advanced poses and modified poses. I am very present with you while we do our Yoga together, as I learn from my students as much, if not more than they learn from me. All you have to do is show up and we will go on this expansive Yoga journey together. This is why many times I call my Yoga classes “Come as You Are Yoga” because that’s all you need to do.

Come as You Are Chair Yoga and Wild Blossoming Lotus Mat Yoga are breath-based yoga classes in the Ellsworth, Rockland, Maine area, where I am honored to have you attend my classes so you can experience how Yoga enhances your whole being.
