Hey! I knew you’d show up because you’re looking to be deeply healthy, to clean out all of that mental, physical, and spiritual filth clogging you up. It seems overwhelming to do this, so that’s why you haven’t started or started and gave up. You don’t feel like you deserve to feel light and free, to create a clearer, stronger, more solid you, a you that is beautiful on your own, where you don’t need anyone to like you and you can still like you. You can even be proud of every strange and silly thing about yourself.
I’m right there with you; been there, done that, still doing it.
When you grab your creamy chocolate, dozen cookies, fried potatoes, or whatever filling, gooey yumminess it is, sit down on the kitchen floor and inhale all of it until you can barely move, and your brain feels soft and warm, at least for a moment, or you reach for whatever your go-to addiction is—drugs, gossiping, alcohol, checking your cell phone, sex, relationships, perfectionism, self-harming—when you hate yourself, and you think, oh yay, they were right, I’m just like they said I am, can’t get what I need to get accomplished to make myself better because I’m dirty, stupid, lazy, fat, (fill in the blanks). And, so it goes, day in, day out.
Remember the most successful people failed constantly, and no matter how many times they went into debt, got evicted, beaten up or down by someone they trusted, fell back into their addictions after years of sobriety, they eventually got back up and tried again, with usually people telling them they were stupid to keep trying, even when they were exhausted, had worked all day, homeless, hadn’t had a bath for weeks, fat, beaten down, could barely see, missing a limb, in constant pain, not able to walk, begging in the streets, their spouse left them and took their children, lies were being spread about them, they had no-one who believed in them, whatever their life obstacles, they kept getting back up.
Here I tell you, and listen to me through my words, as I know what works to make you a spiritually connected human. Do some of these suggestions daily, little-by-little, a few minutes here, a few there, and find what resonates with you. Remember that being consistent (get back up and start again, if you lose focus for a while) and doing these things daily for 90 days is when you’ll be able to see results.
So, right now, start three of these habits for 90 days.
- Eat a healthy, organic, vegan diet mainly made of raw fruits and vegetables
- Meditate
- Journal (you can use plain paper held together with string)
- Do yoga poses (YouTube for free) and Pranayama breathing
- Have a mirror next to your bed and look into your eyes before you go to sleep and when you wake up and say, “I love you”
- Listen to affirmations (YouTube)
- Walk in nature every day and really study the trees, bugs, flowers, and birds
- Read the Bible or Yoga Sutras for spiritual guidance
- Talk to a good counselor if that helps
- Exercise
- Plant a garden
- Develop creative outlets—acting, writing, painting, dancing, singing, photography
- Act like a child more by coloring, laughing, skipping, jumping
- One of the most important things you need to do is be of service to the animals, earth and those in need
You will change yourself. It won’t be instant, but it’ll be a rebirth of who you are.
Remember, all you need is to want to be the radiant you that you know is deep down crying to get out, then every day, plod forward, and every day, you’ll find your movement will get less heavy, more flowing.
I’ll see you on my next blog.
In light and breath,
Camille
P.S. Write a schedule for yourself and stick to it, and forgive yourself when you screw up and don’t.
We are all kindred spirits, and I know you are going to shed that old, useless, dead spiritual weight of self-hatred through daily effort.
